Current free scanner
The free DOCX checker processes the selected manuscript inside the user's browser. The current static version does not upload the manuscript to a Manuscript Preflight server, send manuscript text to an AI provider, or retain the generated report after the page is closed unless the user downloads it.
Website logs and analytics
The hosting provider may record ordinary technical logs such as IP address, browser type, requested page, and timestamp. If analytics is enabled in site_config.yml, the site owner is responsible for updating this policy to identify the provider, purpose, retention period, and consent mechanism required by applicable law.
Downloaded reports
Reports downloaded by the user remain under the user's control. Users should store them securely because they may contain citation details, author metadata, and excerpts from a confidential manuscript.
Future paid features
Accounts, server-side verification, payment processing, database lookups, or human review would require a revised policy before launch. The revised policy should explain exactly which files are uploaded, why they are processed, how long they are retained, who can access them, and how deletion requests work.
Sensitive manuscripts
Do not use any online tool for material whose contractual, legal, clinical, national-security, or institutional restrictions prohibit browser-based processing or third-party website access. Obtain authorization where required.
